Abstract:

PURPOSE: To effectively decrease exhaust noise in idling by easily forming an idle exhaust passage at a low cost, and eliminating possibilities of clogging and corrosion caused by the accumulation of water, in an idle exhaust noise decreasing structure of an outboard engine.
CONSTITUTION: In an outboard engine in which an exhaust passage vertically extending from an engine 8, and opening downward from the water level is formed, and an idle exhaust passage 40 is branched and formed upward from the water level of the exhaust passage, one part of the idle exhaust passage 40 is formed by a rubber hose 41 bent into a reversed U shape.
