To precisely perform a throttle valve opening control by performing the learning by a friction learning means after the learning by an air quantity learning means is converged.
In a sequence control of air quantity and friction learning, the previous air quantity learnt value is subtracted from the detected throttle valve opening, when the learning condition of air quantity learning is established, and the calculated correction throttle valve opening is converted to a correction throttle opening area. The opening area/sucking capacity equivalence is calculated to calculate a target basic volume flow rate ratio, which is then converted into a mass flow rate in a basic state. It is then compared with a substantial flow rate, and the air quantity learnt value of the throttle valve is set to the deviation to correct the throttle opening with the air quantity learnt value. In a friction learning which is performed after the convergence of the air quantity learning, the feedback correction quantity of intake air quantity is sampled every prescribed period to calculate the average value which is then weighted and averaged with the previous learnt value of intake air quantity to renew the friction learnt value, and it is multiplied by a conversion coefficient to calculate the learnt value of opening area of the throttle valve.
