Abstract:
PURPOSE: To fix an igniter at any position by making first and second holders hold the igniter which constitutes the igniting device of a gas generator, and fixing the first holder at the housing step part by means of screw fastening.
CONSTITUTION: A squib holder 18 comprises a first holder 18a and a second holder 18b, and engaging faces 25 and 26 which engage with the outer face 10 of an igniter is formed in each inner peripheral section of the holders 18a and 18b. In order to install the igniter 10, the second holder 18b is locked to the step part 21 formed on a center cylindrical to engage the outer face of the igniter 10 with the engaging face 26 of the second body 1a holder 18b to make the second holder 18b hold the igniter 10. In the next step, a male screw 20 provided on the outer periphery of the first holder 18a is connected to the female screw 17 in the inner periphery of the center cylindrical body 1a. Then, the engaging face 25 of the first holder 18a is engaged with the outer face of the igniter 10 to hold the igniter 10, the second holder 18b is fixed between the step part 21 and the first holder 18a, and as a result, the holder 18 is positioned by the step part 21.
