To provide a new structure igniting file wheel driving apparatus for solving the problems with prior art wherein ignition operation in a smoking lighter using a prior art mechanical ignition mechanism needs a series of operations of rotating an ignition file wheel energetically with a thumb to produce a spark, and pushing down an actuation lever of a burner valve for ignition by sliding the thumb that rotates the ignition file wheel as it is, and hence the thumb suffers a pain by rotating the ignition file wheel many times owing to ignition failure, and further the ignition file wheel becomes hot by repeating friction many times to cause the danger of burn.

There are provided a crank mechanism for rotating an igniting file wheel, and an actuation mechanism for rotating the igniting file wheel in a predetermined direction by actuating the crank mechanism with resilient force. Hereby, the igniting file wheel is energetically rotated with the resilient force of the actuation mechanism to produce a spark. Fingers of a user do not rotate the igniting file wheel but produce the resilient force of the actuation mechanism.
