Abstract:

To provide an ignition coil incorporating an igniter that can generate a desired high voltage, by suppressing the occurrence of cracks in the igniter and a resin insulating material around the igniter even when temperature changes repeatedly occur.

A coefficient of linear expansion of a resin insulating material is reduced so that the coefficient may become nearly equal to that of the molded resin 34 forming an igniter 30 by blending filler ≥50 wt.% in an epoxy resin. Therefore, the occurrence of insufficient connection in a terminal connecting section and the disconnection of wiring in the insulating material 25 and the molded resin 34 can be prevented, because the occurrence of cracks in the contacting spots of the insulating material 25 and the resin 34 can be prevented even when the insulating material 25 and the resin 34 repeatedly expand and contract in association with temperature changes. In addition, the occurrence of discharge between the high-voltage section and low-voltage section of an ignition coil 10 through a crack formed in the insulating material 25 can be prevented.
