Abstract:
To provide an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine enabling a reduction in size and weight.
This ignition coil for the internal combustion engine comprises a primary coil, a secondary coil, a core magnetically joining the primary coil to the secondary coil, and an insulation case with a built-in switching element turning ON/OFF a current flowing in the primary coil. Since a heat radiating plate installed in a switching module formed of the switching element is reduced in size, an external case storing the heat radiating plate can be reduced in size, and accordingly the size and weight of the ignition coil itself can be reduced.
