Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine having no risk of damaging a body part of a diode when the body part of the diode does not directly receive thermal stress of an insulating resin, and having no risk of dislocating a position of the diode by slipping-out of the body part of the diode from a storage part by centrifugal force for rotating a coil.
SOLUTION: This ignition coil 11 for the internal combustion engine, has the diode 24 for impressing high voltage induced to a secondary coil 23 on a spark plug when finishing power supply to a primary coil 14 by checking an impression of the high voltage induced to the secondary coil 23 on the spark plug when starting the power supply to the primary coil 14, A bag-shaped storage part 16 having an opening one surface for storing the body part 24b of the diode 24, is arranged on a side surface of a secondary coil bobbin 16 for winding the coil for forming the secondary coil 23, and an opening 22 of this storage part 16 is crossed at right angles to the winding direction of the coil for forming the secondary coil 23.
