Abstract:

To provide a new ignition device for a gas engine and the new gas engine.

The ignition device is for the gas engine, particularly for an Otto gas engine, and for igniting a fuel-air mixture. The ignition device (11) includes a heating device (12) functioning as an ignition source. Each heating device (12) is separated from the fuel-air mixture to be ignited, by a sleeve-like receiving device (13). A portion (14) of each receiving device (13) contacting with the fuel-air mixture to be ignited is heated by the heating device (12) so that the portion of the receiving device presents necessary temperature for ignition of the fuel-air mixture. The heating device (12) is provided with at least one means (17) for settling the fuel-air mixture to be ignited.
