Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition plug that has high durability and high combustion stability.SOLUTION: Ignition plug (11, 31) comprises: a high voltage electrode (21) formed from a conductive material and having a coated part 21a covered with dielectric (25) and an exposure part 21b not covered with a dielectric; an electrode (22) for dielectric barrier discharge arranged opposite the coated part 21a of the high voltage electrode with the dielectric therebetween; and an electrode (23) for arc discharge arranged opposite the exposure part 21b for the high voltage electrode. By providing the electrode for arc discharge separately from the electrode for barrier discharge, arc discharge is able to restrict damage to dielectric, compared to conventional plasma ignition plug including surface discharge.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
