Title:
IGNITION TIMING CONTROL SYSTEM FOR ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3791364
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a degradation in the follow-up of ignition timing to a quick engine speed variation in a transient state including an engine start-up state results in a torque deficiency and a start-up performance degradation.
SOLUTION: In a transient state, an advance limiter ADVLMT for regulating a maximum value of ignition timing advance for every ignition is set at a larger value ADMLMTS than in a steady state, and an energization angle (dwell angle) TDWLLB is increased to thereby improve the follow-up performance of ignition timing control to appropriate ignition timing and ensure sufficient ignition energy. This prevents a degradation in fuel ignitability and torque characteristics at a start-up and the like to improve start-up performance and exhaust emissions.
