To provide an illumination apparatus which can adjust an incident light volume from a light source to a light guide plate and provide an electro-optical device and electronic equipment provided with the above illumination apparatus.
The illumination apparatus contains a light source and a light guide plate and the electro-optical device and the electronic equipment are provided with the above illumination apparatus, and there are provided a non-contact portion, having a predetermined aperture where light emitted from the light source enters, between the ends of the light source and the light guide plate and a position adjusting portion which is positioned on the both ends of the non-contact portion and contacts directly or indirectly and adjusts a position of the light source against the light guide plate. The light emitted from the light source is transmitted through the predetermined aperture in the non-contact portion.
