Title:
ILLUMINATING APPARATUS AND ELECTRODELESS LOW-PRESSURE DISCHARGE LAMP, HOLDER AND POWER SUPPLY THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07211471
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a luminaire of which a lamp can be lighted at low arc ignition voltage. CONSTITUTION: After a luminaire is switched on, an ignition assisting tool 40 is operated as to put a second end part 35B of a secondary wound wire 32 in a nominal lighting state after being put in an arc igniting state in which the end part 35B is parted from a second contact point 52 of a power source 50. Through the operation, a first switch 41 is set in the closed state 41A. The moment of transition from the arc igniting state to the nominal lighting state depends on the temperature of the lamp and in this case, the first switch 41 is set in the closed state 41B at a sufficiently high temperature and the luminaire is transmitted from the arc igniting state to the nominal lighting state.
