PURPOSE: To provide a lighting device for fluorescent lamps, incorporating a cut-off delaying function.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent lamp illuminating device comprising a plurality of main illumination fluorescent lamps 1, 2 and a safety lamp which are sequentially switched by a pull switch 4 so as to obtain a desired illuminating condition, a timer circuit 14 associated with the operation of the pull switch 4 so that the turn-off of the fluorescent lamps are delayed by a predetermined time through the manipulation of the switch when the condition is shifted from a condition in which fluorescent lamps 1, 2 is turned on, into a condition in which the safety lamp 3 is turned on. After the manipulation of the switch, the fluorescent lamp is turned off with a delay, a safety is ensured during going-out from the room.
