Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating device that can limit a force of pressing means to hold a light guide body within a certain range and can prevent light from a light source from leaking out from a cover member, and an image reading device and an image forming apparatus including the illuminating device.SOLUTION: An illuminating device, such as an illuminating unit 401 irradiating a document surface with light comprises: a light source, such as an LED 71; and a light guide body 63 that guides light emitted from the light source to an irradiation area. The illuminating device further includes: a holding member, such as a base sheet metal 61 that holds the light guide body 63 such that an incident surface 63a of the light guide body 63 on which the light emitted from the light source is made incident faces a light irradiation surface 71a of the light source, pressing means for pressing the light guide body 63 against the holding member, and a cover member 64 that covers a surface of the light guide body 63 on the opposite side of the holding member facing surface. The pressing means is formed by attaching an elastic member, such as a leaf spring member 81 to the cover member 64.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 18
