To provide an illumination device attached to a seat which is provided to a portion of a seat back that corresponds to shoulder, in which a space for storing the illumination device in the seat back is not required since the illumination device is converted between use state and retracted state by opening/closing a cover that is provided to the illumination device.
A housing 3 that has a recessed part on the front side of a vehicle is fixed to a portion of a seat back 51 that corresponds to shoulder, and a cover body 2 is provided to the front of the housing 3 to cover the recessed part. A lower part of the cover body 2 is fixed to the housing 3 for swinging to and fro of the vehicle, with an upper part thereof as a center, and an illumination lamp 1 is fixed to the cover body 2, in the recessed part between the cover body 2 and the housing 3. The cover body 2, when swung to the front side relative to the housing 3, causes the illumination lamp 1 to be exposed between the cover body 2 and the housing 3, and when the cover body is returned to a position at the time before swinging from that position, the illumination lamp 1 is stored between the cover body 2 and the housing 3.
