To provide an illumination device for the interior of a vehicle capable of satisfying design regardless of the emission/non-emission of a light emission section without damaging the design when the light emission section does not emit light.
The illumination device for the interior of the vehicle 1 includes a linear light emission section 11. The linear light emission section 11 is installed on a surface of an interior member 3 for the vehicle. In the interior member 3, the surface is provided with linear decoration sections 13 positioned in line at both sides of the linear light emission section 11. A top of the linear light emission section 11 is positioned at a place recessed than a virtual line that connects the tops of the linear decoration sections 13 positioned in line at both sides of the linear light emission section 11. The linear light emission section 11 and the linear decoration sections 13 are formed in a stitched state.
