Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device for a vehicle cabin which can obtain optimal uniformity ratio of illuminance with a small luminous source by efficiently and uniformly diffusing light from a luminous source over a wide range.SOLUTION: An illumination device for a vehicle cabin comprises: an interior material body 15 which includes an illumination window part 21; a tabular light guiding member 19 in which a light incident surface 19a is irradiated with light from a luminous source 18, and the incident light is diffused and reflected inside of the light guiding member to emit it from a light emission surface 19e; a concavity 22 with a U-shaped cross section which is arranged on the light incident surface 19a to face the luminous source 18; and a plurality of total reflection cut surfaces 23 which are respectively arranged stepwise going down sequentially from the concavity 22 side to outside at both sides sandwiching the concavity 22 on the light incident surface 19a so that the incident light from the concavity 22 to inside of the light guiding member 19 is diffused and reflected into the light guiding member 19.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
