To provide an illumination device capable of brightly and clearly projecting the wavering feeling of a water surface in spite of its compact size.
In the illumination device, a nozzle 6 connected to a pump 5 is arranged so as to turn upward while setting a light source 4 above a receiving tray 1. Run-down water is pooled in the tray 1 and sucked into the pump 5 and discharged again from the nozzle 6 so as to circular again, by arranging a translucent umbrella body 2 making the water discharged from the nozzle 6 diffuse around the light source and run down, and a translucent cover 3 made to cover the outside of the umbrella body 2, forming a sealed space together with the tray 1. Since the light from the light source 4 is transmitted by the water running-down around the light source 4 through the umbrella body 2 and irradiated directly outside without being reflected from a mirror surface or the water surface, the illumination device can brightly and clearly project the wavering feeling of the water surface by efficiently utilizing the light from the light source 4 in spite of its compact size.
