To provide an illumination device formed so that both hands can be used freely when using a light emitting unit alone, having a strap not hindering when mounting the illumination device on an illumination device main body.

The light emitting unit 3 having a light emitting diode 16 as a light source and a secondary battery 17, which can be used alone, is made possible to be mounted on the illumination device main body 2 in free detachment, and a strap 22 and a supporting body 12 are formed on the light emitting unit 3. When the strap 22 is not used, the strap 22 can be housed inside of the supporting body 12 so as not to hinder by putting the supporting body 12 on an outer shell 11 of the light emitting unit 3. When the light emitting unit 3 is used alone, the light emitting unit can be supported by a supporting body 12 in an attitude irradiating front side of a user in a state of hanging the strap 22 on a neck of the user, by making the supporting body 12 protrude in a direction of reflected light of the light emitting unit 3.
