To provide an illumination device capable of preventing coming-off of a globe better than conventional ones.
A self-ballasted LED lamp 1 includes a holder 320 on which an LED module 10 is mounted and a globe 70 to cover the LED module 10. On a surface 324a on which the LED module 10 of the holder 320 is mounted, a groove part 321 to surround the LED module 10 is formed, and into this groove part 321, the end part of the globe 70 is inserted. The LED module 10 is fixed by a fastener 315, and the fastener 315 is mounted on a base board 324 in a state to cover a portion of opening part of the groove part 321. Furthermore, a penetrating-hole 322 penetrating through up to the rear face 24b of a holder 20 is formed at a portion of a bottom face 324d of the groove part 321. An adhesive 80 is filled into this penetrating-hole 322 and the groove part 321.
