To provide an illumination device capable of selecting and illuminating a range which a user wishes to illuminate.
An illumination device comprises: a left LED 31L which is a first light source mounted on a left metal substrate 32; a right LED 31R which is a second light source mounted on a right metal substrate 32; and light guide bodies 36L and 36R which are light guide means for guiding light from these LEDs 31L and 31R into predetermined directions respectively. The left and right LEDs 31L and 31R are provided facing with each other by sandwiching the light guide bodies 36L and 36R, and the left and right LEDs 31L and 31R are capable of lighting on/off independently respectively, so that not only a lighting mode in which the left and right LEDs 31L and 31R are lighted on simultaneously but also a lighting mode in which only the left LED 31L or the right LED 31R is lighted on can be selected. Therefore, a user can select and illuminate a range which the user wishes to illuminate by selecting the illumination mode according to his/her purpose.
