Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination power source and an illumination device that can extend the variable range of output current.SOLUTION: An illumination power source comprises an output element which is connected between a power source an illumination load, and switched between a switching operation in which an ON-state and an OFF-state are repeated and an ON-continuation operation in which the ON-state is continued, and a constant current element which is connected to the output element in series and restricts output current of the switching element. The illumination power source switches the output element to the ON-continuation operation when the output to the illumination load is relatively small, and switches the output element to the switching operation when the output to the load is relatively large. The constant current element restricts the peak value of the output current in the switching operation, and restricts the output current to a constant current value in the ON-continuation operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
