Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb effect of an electromagnetic force acting to a coil at a thick coil pressure plate and prevent the coil from moving outward by increasing the thickness of the coil pressure plate in the direction of a charged particle beam.
SOLUTION: A charged particle taken out of a synchrotron passes through a magnetic field generated by current through a return coil 3 and a septum coil 8, and its track is deflected when passing through a vacuum duct 10. At this time, heat generated in the septum coil 8 is speedily transmitted to a septum coil pressure plate 9 tightly abutting to the septum coil 8 via a mold resin, and is discharged from the septum coil pressure plate 9. A push out force caused by an electromagnetic force acting to the septum coil 8 is absorbed by the mold resin integrating the septum coil 8 and the septum coil pressure plate with a core, and the septum coil 8 is not moved outward.
