In the projection type video display device 100, a reflection part 11 has a half reflection part 11a arranged to be opposed to a first emitting surface 10Sa and to have inclination of 45 degrees with respect to the first emitting surface 10Sa and a total reflection part 11b arranged to be opposed in parallel with the half reflection part 11 and to have inclination of 45 degrees with respect to a second emitting surface 10Sb. The half reflection part 11a reflects almost half of incident light, and transmits almost half of the incident light, and the total reflection part 11b reflects almost all the incident light.
