Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of setting a threshold for binarizing input image data in a lighting system which illuminates an object with light in the picture data input section of a picture processor for recognizing the shape of an object of various colors. CONSTITUTION:This illuminator is composed of a lamp 2 which illuminates an object with light, optical sensor 5 which detects the luminance level of reflected light from the object 1, and light quantity controller 6 which adjusts the light emitting amount of the lamp 2 so that the luminance level detected by the sensor 5 can become equal to the luminance level when the color of the object 1 is, for example, an intermediate color.
