Title:
IMAGE REDUCING/MAGNIFYING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3877054
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reducing/magnifying apparatus that can save the capacity of a memory to read pixel data of an object reduction range in the unit of 8×8 pixels without the need for using a line FIFO.
SOLUTION: The image reducing/magnifying apparatus with a magnifying function of reducing image data is provided with: a first memory 1 that stores block data in the unit of 8×8 pixels, an adder 3 to calculate a total sum of the image data within the reduction object range; a sum storage register 4 that temporarily stores the sum of pixels in each of mainscanning and subscanning; a divider 5 to calculate an average of total sum of the image data within the reduction object range; a first address generator 6 to store one pixel to be calculated to a prescribed position; a summing intermediate storage timing generator 7; a divider discrimination device 8, and a second memory 9 to store 8×8 pixel data after reduction.
