Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a binarization image to exactly express an object by limiting a light beam made incident on an image pickup device, detecting the maximum peak of an image signal and controlling the operation of an incoming light limiting means so as to be smaller than an upper bound value which is prescribed in advance so that a halation can not be generated. CONSTITUTION:An image signal SP outputted from a TV camera 14 is supplied to a peak deciding device 16 and an image binarization comparator 18. The peak deciding device 16 detects the maximum peak value of the image signal SP to constitute one screen and decides whether the maximum peak value is smaller than the upper bound value prescribed in advance or not. Such an upper bound value is a value as large as possible out of the voltage values of the image signal SP not to generate the halation and when the maximum peak value of the image signal SP is smaller than the upper bound value, the halation is not generated. Accordingly, in such a case, the image signal SP is outputted, as it is, from the peak deciding device 16 to an image signal level detector 20.
