PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize technology capable of avoiding unnecessary light emission when photographing in a dark place.SOLUTION: An image-capturing device according to the present invention has setting means for setting up for photographing using a self-timer, light emission means for notifying the operating state of the self-timer by emitting light, and control means for controlling, at the time of photographing using the self-timer, so as to disable notification of the operating state of the self-timer by the light emission means when operating in a dark place operation mode in which portrait photography is not assumed.
