Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image communication system and its communication method that can conduct image transmission by using a facsimile function of other device connected to a network when a facsimile function of its own device is in use.
SOLUTION: In the image communication system where image processing devices 501, 502 having functions including a facsimile function are connected via a network for communication of an image, when the image processing device 501 uses the facsimile function to transmit the image and the facsimile function is in use, the other image processing device 502 connected to the network and whose facsimile function is idle is retrieved, destination information and image information required for the transmission are transferred to the other retrieved image processing device 502 via the network and using the facsimile function of the other image processing device 502 transmits the image information based on the transferred destination information.
