Abstract:

To determine matching or similarity degree for a specific image, without completely decoding the image subjected to compression encoding according to JPEG 2000 standard etc., and search the image which substantially matches the specific image, without completely decoding the video image content subjected to compression decoding in accordance with the JPEG 2000 standard etc.

An encoding parameter extractor 10 extracts an encoding parameter of a code stream and supplies it to an image feature amount extractor 30. A code stream feature amount extractor 20 analyzes the code stream and extracts the number of zero bit plane for each code block. The image feature amount extractor 30 detects the number of zero-bit plane for each code block of the specific image, based on the encoding parameter of the code stream. A comparator 40 compares the number of zero-bit plane of code streams and the number of zero-bit plane of the specific image for each code block and performs matching determination for the code stream and the specific image.
