Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce deterioration in image quality caused by a magnification of conversion used for converting number of pixels of an image.
SOLUTION: An image of an original is read (200), an entry section enters a magnification/reduction rate to the read image of the original (202). In the case that the entered magnification is a multiple of 1/n (100) or a value around a multiple of 1/n, cubic spline interpolation (212) resulting from shifting a prescribed number of pixels in place of conventional cubic spline interpolation (206) is applied to the image.
