A image data analysis apparatus receives image data and color space conversion information to convert the color space of the image data into a standard color space, wherein the color space conversion information is referred to as information for converting the color space of the image data into the standard color space, and the standard color space is referred to as a color space established in advance as a standard. Then the image data analysis apparatus analyzes the image data of the standard color space to extract a prescribed feature quantity from the image. Or the image data analysis apparatus may extract the feature quantity at first and convert the feature quantity into the feature quantity of the standard color space according to the color space conversion information. Since the image data analysis apparatus can extract the feature quantity of the standard color space independently of the color space of the image data in this way, the image data analysis apparatus can uniformly process various image data on the basis of the feature quantity. As a result, the image data analysis apparatus can correct the image data and execute searching processing or the like on the basis of the feature quantity in a proper and easy way.
