To acquire excellent printed matter without deteriorating image quality of the printed matter by suppressing strike-through and set-off caused by excessive transfer of ink to printing paper and staining of the printed matter caused by retransfer of the ink.
By receiving input of image data showing an image to be recorded on a recording medium conveyed in a predetermined paper passing direction in a printing apparatus, and performing density conversion processing to the received image data such that the density of the image data showing images continuously appearing in a subscanning direction on the image data corresponding to the paper passing direction may be low, the image data that has been processed to be density-converted are generated.
