To provide a slide show display method, an image display apparatus, an imaging apparatus, and an image reproducing apparatus and program, capable of automatically determining a motion in the case of slide show display from image photographic information.

A flowchart for indicating the control operation example of a control section of a digital camera by an operation program in a photographing mode includes a step T2 of setting "1" to a reproduction counter, when slide show display is selected (T1); steps T3, T4 of reading i-th image data and AF information (a focal position and an object distance) from a storage memory; a step T5 of determining the motion of a reproduced image, on the basis of the AF information; and a step T6 of displaying the image according to the determined motion, displaying the image in a way of taking a look around the distant view as a whole, by applying panning to an object of the distance view and zooming the image so as to match the focus at a focal position by a zoom-in operation for an object to the left of a near view, according to the operation determined in the step T5 (an image operation determining algorithm).
