To generate a reconstructed image from an observed image picked up by a low resolution CCD camera from a continuous image, in approximation to a target image obtained when a high resolution CCD camera picks up the continuous image.
AL and AH are operators for relating a target image f to an observed image g and a continuous image fc respectively. AL includes optical characteristics, electrical characteristics and the like of a low resolution CCD camera. AH includes optical characteristics, electrical characteristics and the like of a high resolution CCD camera. A reconstruction operator based on AL and AH also includes the optical characteristics and electrical characteristics of the low resolution CCD camera and high resolution CCD camera. The reconstruction operator including the optical characteristics and electrical characteristics of the low resolution CCD camera and high resolution CCD camera can be caused to operate on the observed image picked up by the low resolution CCD camera to generate a reconstructed image approximate to the target image.
