PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus capable of realizing functions of image display, illumination, an air-conditioner by one apparatus, quietly emitting aroma and gas far from the inside of a screen, and accurately controlling an emission direction.SOLUTION: An image display apparatus or illumination device comprises: a screen 5 constituted so that a gap is generated in a horizontal direction by arranging a plurality of linear display components 2 in a vertical direction; and an air pressure generator 7 which is provided with a housing 6 on the rear side of the screen to vary air pressure in the housing. A plurality of blades 10 are provided in the horizontal direction so as to cross the linear display components in the housing, one ends of the respective blades are connected with a rotational axis mechanism 11 provided near the screen, and the tips of the blades are constituted so as to extend in the housing. Gas is emitted in blade corner directions from the gap by rotation of the blades in predetermined directions. An air cleaner 26 using photocatalysis is provided inside the housing. A heat exchanger 30 is provided between the screen and the air pressure generator.
