To eliminate nonuniformity in the brightness of a projection image within a display image apparatus for obtaining an enlarged projection image, through an oblique projection of image light onto a rear-surface projection-type screen.
The screen 3, on which the image light is projected from an image generating source 1, is provided with a fresnel lens sheet 8 and a lenticular lens sheet 9. A prism 12, having a refracting surface and the total reflecting surface, is formed on the incident surface of the fresnel lens sheet 8. The prism 12 comprises a 1st prism 12a provided in a zone of the light incident surface of the fresnel lens sheet 8, where a light having incident angle equal to or larger than a prescribed angle enters and including a 1st total reflection surface and a 2nd prism 12b provided in zone of the light incident surface of the Fresnel lens sheet 8, where a light having incident angle smaller than a prescribed angle enters and including a 2nd total reflection surface. The dimension of the total reflection surface of the 2nd prism 12b is made longer than that of the total reflection surface of the 1st prism 12a, by providing grooves 13 with each having a V-shaped cross-section among a plurality of the 2nd prisms 12b.
