To provide an image display apparatus provided with a laser light source device using a semiconductor laser as a light source which can guide laser light of each color to a projection optical system side using fewer optical elements than those of the laser light source device.

In the image display apparatus 1 which includes laser light source devices 2 to 4 for outputting laser light of a green color, a red color and a blue color, a projection optical system 8 for projecting the laser light of each of the colors to the outside, and dichroic mirrors 14 and 15 for guiding the laser light of each of the colors to a projection optical system side, the output optical axis P_G of the laser light of the green color sequentially crosses the output optical axes P_B and P_R of the laser light of the blue color and the red color, the dichroic mirror 14 makes the laser light of the green color and the blue color transmit through the dichroic mirror 15 and reflected on the dichroic mirror 15, and the dichroic mirror 15 reflects one of the laser light of the green color and the blue color which has transmitted through the dichroic mirror 14 and has been reflected on the dichroic mirror 14, and the laser light of the red color, and makes the other light transmit therethrough.
