Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce processing data amount for display of an image display device that displays an image using multiple resolution employing the wavelet transform.
SOLUTION: A range/condition designation means 12 designates a range or a condition of an image subject to wavelet transform to be displayed at a high resolution level, and a partial image generating means 3 sequentially extracts, depending on a level of the resolution, a pixel group of a low resolution level required for decoding pixel data with a high resolution level included within the designated range or condition. The pixel data included in the designated range or condition with a high resolution level are generated with inverse wavelet transform by using the pixel data, and a high resolution image display means 13 display an image with a high resolution level.
