To provide an image display device in which the occurrence of an MR visual field competition is suppressed when displaying an invisible image by superimposing it on the actual view.
The present invention relates to an image display device for displaying an invisible image by superimposing it on the actual view, being characterized in comprising: a visible image pickup means 4; an invisible image pickup means 3 for capturing the situation of an area that is hardly watched, as an image; an arithmetic means 6a for operating luminance difference information between corresponding pixels of a visible image picked up by the visible image pickup means 4 and an invisible image picked up by the invisible image pickup means 3; and an adjustment means 6b for adjusting the luminance of the pixel of the invisible image to be displayed while being superimposed in accordance with the luminance difference information operated by the arithmetic means 6a.
