To provide an image display device where generation of luminance unevenness is suppressed.
An image display device comprises an LED 105 and a light guide body 131, which is positioned opposed to the LED 105 and has an incidence plane 132 of incident light from the LED 105 and outgoing light plane 120 adjacent to the incidence plane 132, allowing the incident light from the incidence plane 132 to propagate inward and to emit from the outgoing light plane 120. The image display device also comprises an image display panel 170 which is positioned at the side of the outgoing light plane 120 and receives the emitted light from the outgoing light plane 120 of the light guide body 131 to display an image in a display region, and a light diffusion part 125 which is positioned on a main surface 121 opposed to the outgoing light plane 120 of the light guide body 131 and diffuses the light propagating through inside the light guide body 131. In an opposing direction of the LED 105 and the incidence plane 132, the distance between an region end of the light diffusion part 125 adjacent to the LED 105 and the LED 105 is longer than the distance between a display region end adjacent to the LED 105 and the LED 105.
