To prevent that, when a portable information processor incorporating an image display device is used with placed on a surface of a desk, an image is displayed on a screen in a state where a part of the image is not displayed because a laser beam is obstructed by the surface of the desk.
An image display device comprises a movable body 12 provided to be allowed to be housed in/extracted from a housing attached on a drive bay of a portable information processor. The movable body includes a first unit 13 having at least a projection optical system, and a second unit 14 rotatably supporting the first unit 13 via a hinge part 73. In the first unit, an emission window 74 from which a laser beam having passed through the projection optical system is emitted is provided at an end in the opposite side to the hinge part. The hinge part is configured such that the first unit rotates in a direction in which a projection angle of a laser beam relative to a screen varies upward and downward, that is, around a first rotation axis.
