To improve operability and safety of an image display device capable of using an image display unit in a vertically long state and a horizontally long state.

An image display device can be used in a vertically long state or a horizontally long state by adjusting a position of an image display unit 1. A height adjustment mechanism 3 comprises a stationary mechanism part 4 and a vertical movement mechanism part 5, and is provided to a support post part of a stand 2. The vertical movement mechanism part 5 comprises a lower half part having a built-in locking shaft 13 and spring 25, and an upper half part supporting a tilt adjustment mechanism 6. The tilt adjustment mechanism 6 has a coil spring fitted thereto generating frictional force against a tilt rotation shaft 7 so as to hold the image display unit 1 inclined with an arbitrary angle within a predetermined range. A rotation adjustment mechanism 8 is provided in front of the tile adjustment mechanism 6, and four locking grooves 12 formed at an angle pitch of 90° on a cylinder part 10 and a locking fitting 14 provided to a tip part of the locking shaft 13 are interlocked with each other so as to suppress rotation of the image display unit 1.
