Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the interference of optical systems for left and right eyes and expand a field angle while maintaining an eye relief.SOLUTION: An image formation device comprises: image display units 1-4 for displaying an original picture; a first optical system 10 for guiding a first left-eye image light from a first original picture for the left eye to a left exit pupil; a second optical system 9 for guiding a first right-eye image light from a first original picture for the right eye to a right exit pupil S1; and a third optical system 11 for causing a second left-eye image light from a second original picture for the left eye to pass through an area closer to the right exit pupil side than is an area where the first left-eye image light passes through when guided to the left exit pupil, and causing a second right-eye image light from a second original picture for the right eye to pass through an area closer to the left exit pupil side than is an area where the first right-eye image light passes through when guided to the right exit pupil.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
