PURPOSE: To realize an image display device which can be formed by reducing a cost also to obtain a reflection preventing effect over a wide wavelength region of visible light to have a reflection preventing film with small colored reflected light.
CONSTITUTION: A reflection preventing film 2 of double layer structure, successively laminating a high refractive index layer 3 and a low refractive index layer 4 consisting of SiO2, is formed on an external surface of a faceplate 1 formed with a fluorescent film 7 on the internal surface. The high refractive index layer 3 has a constitution of dispersedly mixing a fine particle 5 of SnO2 in about average 6nm primary grain size of doping Sb for obtaining electric conductivity simultaneously with for obtaining a high refractive index inn an SiO2 layer and a fine particle 6 of titanium black in an about average 30 to 50nm primary grain size for forming irregularity a the surface.
