Abstract:
To provide an image display method and an image display device with which it is possible to improve the quality of the image to be displayed.SOLUTION: In the image display method, a backlight is divided into a plurality of first areas arrayed in a first direction, each of the first areas including a plurality of light emission regions. A liquid crystal panel is divided into a plurality of second areas arrayed in the first direction, each of the second areas including a plurality of pixels. The voltage applied to each of the pixels is sequentially switched in the first direction, for each second area. The output of a light source in each of the light emission regions is sequentially switched in the first direction, for each first area. The process of switching the output of the light source in each of the light emission regions is begun after an elapse of a delay time from when the process of switching the voltage applied to each of the pixels was begun.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9G
