Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve a high-speed characteristic and high brightness by opening, shutting or reversing a present image, then setting the electrodes of all pixels at the ground or the same potential, then rising the next image.
CONSTITUTION: A controller 8 raises the voltage of the pixels B of the present image P1 up to the voltage of a transmission state, then set all the pixels A, B at the ground or the same potential at the time of rewriting of the display image for a liquid crystal mask 4. The controller, thereafter, outputs the signal to rise the next image P2. The after image A2 remains but the reverse after image B1 does not exist any more and, therefore, the sharpness of marking is improved. In addition, the transmittance of the transmissive parts A1, B1 rise at nearly he same value and, therefore, the setting of the timing for irradiation with a laser beam is facilitated and the high-speed marking characteristic is surely improved.
