Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a temperature difference in an image display panel and prevent an increase in deformation or stress resulting from the heat generation of the image display panel by providing a plurality of cooling means and controlling a cooling volume with each of the cooling means independently.
SOLUTION: Heat generated at the time of showing an image on an image display panel made of a display plate 2, a rear plate 1 and a side wall part 3, is released to the atmosphere via radiation fins 5a to 5d. In this case, driving current for Peltier elements 4a to 4d or a fan as a cooling means, or the air volume of the fan is changed, thereby controlling a heat quantity flowing from the rear plate 1 to the radiation fins 5a to 5d. Also, the flowrate of a heat quantity to be released to the atmosphere is changed, depending on the area where the Peltier elements 4a to 4d or the fan is laid. Thus, a temperature distribution within the image display panel can be reduced under the restraint of a weight increase, by preliminarily measuring a temperature distribution during the display of an image for predicting a panel temperature distribution, and setting a large cooling volume for an area having high temperature.
