PURPOSE: To ensure that the whole drawn character arrangement is better balanced by detecting the actual size of a sheet and enlarging/reducing an image in accordance with the kind and use of a sheet.
CONSTITUTION: Specified drawn image data is selected by a data input and activation indication device (f), then an image drawing control device (e) reads any appropriate drawn image data from a drawn image data storage device (g), and the kind of a sheet suited for use and a layout pattern are selected by device to select between the kinds of a sheet and layout patterns (b). The image drawing control device (e) passes information on the kind of sheet and layout pattern, and also information on the size of an actually used sheet obtained from a device to detect the vertical and horizontal size of a sheet to an layout information calculation device (d). The layout information calculation device (d)reads received layout information from a layout information storage device (a), then returns the result of enlargement/reduction of layout information in accordance with the ratio of the size of an actually used sheet and a reference size as well as the kind of a sheet to the image drawing control device (e). The image drawing control device (e) instructs the commencement of image drawing using the data input and activation indication device (f).
