To use an image emerging mirror as an interior decoration which gives a strong impression on a person looking into the mirror by displaying an image suddenly, and normally displays the image and changes into a mirror at need.

This mirror comprises a half-mirror 1, a black box 2 whose back is covered so as to cut off external light, a shutter 7 which covers the back of the half mirror 1, an image body 4 provided in the black box 2, and an illumination lamp 3 which lights up the image body 4. Namely, when the shutter 7 is open and the illumination lamp 3 is illuminating, the image body 4 behind the half-mirror 1 is lit up with the light of the illumination lamp 3 and the luminosity of the back side of the half-mirror 1 becomes larger than that of the front side, so the light reflected by the image body 4 passes through the half-mirror 1 from the back to the front. Accordingly, an image of the image body 4 on the back side emerges on the front side of the half-mirror 1.
